2012 Greenhouse Gas Report

A total of 3.13 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent were emitted by over 8,000 facilities that report to the The Environmental Protection Agency's Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program.

Nearly all of them reported direct emissions to the atmosphere which included carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and fluorinated gases according to the report.

These facilities account for about half of the United States greenhouse gas emissions according to the Environmental Protection Agency's report.
