Magellanic penguins are facing severe challenges brought on by climate change. Already the chicks are vulnerable to starvation and predators, but intense storms and increasing temperatures are not helping.
While monitoring the penguin colony in Punta Tombo, Argentina, scientists monitored regional temperature changes and increases in the number of days with heavy rains. This is one of the first studies being published that shows a direction connection of the impact of climate change on seabirds.
