After a 12 inch pipe carrying crude oil broke, around 50,000
gallons were released into the surrounding environment. Some of the oil has
reached the Yellowstone River and signs can be seen miles down stream. Efforts
are being made to reduce the oils impact on the environment and ensure public
safety down stream. This is nothing new as in 2011 an Exxon Mobile pipeline
broke leaking 63,000 gallons polluting a large stretch of shore. Read the Guardian article here.
