Coal Dredging in the Great Barrier Reef Area

According to the guardian, the Great Barrier Reef will now be neighbor to coal dredgeing of the ocean floor. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), gave oil companies the go ahead to enter the marine park and extract resources. The article raises worries about how much the worlds ecosystems can take in way of relaxing environmental protection laws.
