Respol Oil Drilling

 

Repsol abandon its oil and gas exploration off the Canary Islands. This project could have meant high environmental impacts on the local ocean flora and sea animals. Luckily due to environmental groups and a sudden drop in oil and gas prices, Repsol withdrew from the project.  The head of authority in Lanzarote is now promoting reusable energy in the Canary Islands.
