Spain's use of renewable energy sources grew in 2013. They used 20.9 percent wind energy to power the country. This, plus their use of nuclear power resulted in a 23 percent reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Here is the
article courtesy of Al Jazeera. The article also warns of how Spain's unstable economic state could have a negative effect on the country's dependance on renewable energy. Government subsidies seem to have been invaluable to their development of the renewables.
I wonder if or when the US will chose to subsidize renewable energy.
