Nike isn’t very well known for their sustainability when it
comes to their products. It has been well documented whether it’s been poor
labor environments or just over all consumption they have not done well in the
past. Even on their site there is a graphic included which states, “56% of CO2
emissions across the value chain comes from the materials that go into our
products.” This is not very promising that even they admit that. But I was
curious if they had any plans for improvement, this is what I found. They
basically just stated that they hoped to bring down emissions via their
factories, retail facilities, transportation, and their headquarter facilities.
Compared to Adidas, Nike definitely does not seem to have their environmental
side figured out. I hope then intent to improve their overall approach to the
environment.
