Recycling has always been a rather boring notion filled with
sorting out cans and bottles, but with a little creativity it can go a long
way. Currently Company in New Zealand is using recycled carpets and
transforming them into bikes. Its estimated around 5 billion tons of carpet are
dumped every year. Rather then dumping the carpets this company turns the
fibers and backings into pellets ready to be molded into shape. Using glass
fiber and advance technology to injection mold the pieces, a children’s bike is
born. To me this proves that much of our waste has potential to be brought back
to life as something new. All it needs is some human ingenuity. Click here for the
