Ways To Reduce Your Carbon Footprint


Your Car:
  • Make sure to regularly take your in for maintenance, so it can stay at environmental standards.
  • Drive smart, your acceleration, stopping and starting, maintain a steady speeds are all ways to increase MPG.
  • Make sure to keep fuel efficiency is mind when going to purchase your next car.
  • Make sure you do the most commuting in your families most fuel efficient car
  • If you can make sure you carpool
  • If you can bike to where you need to go
  • If you can work from home
Your Home:
  • Buy a programable thermostat.
  • Buy compact fluorescent light bulbs, they have the ability to save you $40 dollars throughout their lifetime.
  • Make sure your house is properly insulated to help save you money when using utilities.
  • Turn lights off during the day, and always turn off lights in rooms that are not being used.
Your Workplace:
  • Reduce paper consumption, is you don't need to print don't print.
  • Open up a window instead of using the air conditioner.
  • Bring your own lunch.
Your Life:
  • Make sure recycle!
  • Buy products from local companies and farmers.
  • Eat less meat, vegetarians save about 3,000 pounds of CO2 per year.
  • Never waste food, about 1/4 of food made in America gets tossed out.
  • Hand down used clothing you don't want, whether its a little brother or neighbor people are always willing to receive new clothing.
